Duties and Responsibilities
We are seeking a Research Assistant for a mixed methods study which will investigate the efficacy of care models for adults with intellectual disability and challenging behaviour. The post holder’s main roles will be collecting quantitative and qualitative data from individuals with intellectual disability and their carers, and, in the latter stages, assisting with analysis and dissemination of results. Travel outside London will be required.
This post is suitable for an early career researcher or someone interested in a future career in mental health or clinical psychology. There will be opportunities for personal and professional development.
This post is available from February 2020, and is funded by NIHR HS&DR until August 2020.
Key Requirements
A first degree (2:1 or above) in psychology or other relevant clinical or social science is required, and experience of working clinically or in a research capacity with people with intellectual disabilities or complex mental health problems. Candidates must also have an ability to communicate sensitively with patients with intellectual disabilities and their carers, have excellent interpersonal skills, and some experience of conducting either quantitative or qualitative research.
