SCOTLAND Learning disabilities framework launched

Christina McKelvie and Clare Haughey launched The Keys to Life: Unlocking Futures – Implementation Framework and Priorities 2019-20 yesterday.
The framework was created in partnership with COSLA, the Scottish Commission on Learning Disabilities and the Scottish Learning Disabilities Observatory.

The new phase of the programme aims to build a more inclusive society by supporting people with learning disabilities across all aspects of their lives. Christina McKelvie said: *“The new framework is about children and young people as well as adults, and it is also about the whole life journey, not just health and social care. It’s an exciting opportunity to make real change.”

Scottish Commission for Learning Disability Chief Executive, Chris Creegan, welcomed the adoption of a “whole population and whole person approach”.
