Richard Tompkins Nurse Development Scholarship
Deadline extended
Recognising that things in practice are extra busy at the moment, The Foundation for Nursing Studies have decided to extend the deadline for this ‘once in a lifetime’ opportunity. It is a development opportunity, for a registered nurse, midwife or health visitor who is committed to developing person-centred cultures of care. This scholarship is open to practitioners who are working clinically in any health or social care setting UK-wide, and is targeting, in particular, those at ward sister level or equivalent.
- Attendance at the 5-day FoNS residential programme (24-28 April 2023). The scholarship covers the fees, accommodation, food and travel expenses. This is a great opportunity to connect with other nurses and AHPs in a friendly and inspiring learning environment
- 12 months bespoke mentorship from FoNS to support you to put your ideas into practice, and support via email and telephone, along with the opportunity to connect with regional and national nursing leaders and nursing educators/academics
- The option of FoNS support to publish, present or publicise your work through academic publication, conferences or blogging
- An invitation to the FoNS Celebration event in London
The application requires support from both your line manager and someone at a senior level. This is to ensure that the scholar is fully supported in their transformational journey. And we have found that having conversations about why you want to apply for the scholarship, is really helpful in terms of focussing your thoughts.
