We launched the Springwell Project in November 2016 in response to an earlier study which showed that people with a learning disability (PWLD) and complex needs didn’t feel involved in decisions about their specialist healthcare.
Our project has changed how we involve the people who use our service. Using the tools and resources Springwell produced we are now actively supporting people with PWLD and complex needs and their families/carers to gain skills to better manage and engage in the planning of their own healthcare.
