Conducting research with people not having the capacity to consent to their participation: A practical guide for researchers

The new British Psychological Society (2020). Conducting research with people not having the capacity to consent to their participation: A practical guide for researchers, is now available online from the BPS. This is an updated version from the original 2008 version. We hope the guidebook can continue to be useful to researchers who are considering including participants where mental capacity to consent is uncertain or where participants lack capacity to give fully informed consent.

The guidebook is attached and can be found on the BPS website here: Conducting research with people not having the capacity to consent | BPS,
